Delivery & HandlingBarncrest provide an efficient and reliable next-day delivery service (Monday-Friday) to most areas of the UK mainland for only £25 per order.

We can also offer this service to customers based in Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and most UK islands for a small additional surcharge - details on request. For your added convenience, Saturday morning deliveries and time-specific deliveries can also be arranged for an additional charge.

Please note that, unlike most of our competitors, our standard £25 delivery charge is for the whole order irrespective of the overall size and weight of the entire delivery.

Additional Information

Customers requiring worktops urgently must place their order before 1pm to qualify for next-day delivery. Worktops requiring our bespoke cutting and
finishing service
will take slightly longer, usually 3-5 days, but the delivery time will depend on the complexity of the request. Bespoke hardwood tables can be delivered within 7 working days from placement of your order.

Worktops & tables will be delivered to you by a third party courier service using 7.5T vehicles. It is assumed that your delivery address is easily accessible but if you foresee any difficulties you must notify us beforehand so that we can arrange a special delivery. Deliveries will only be unloaded to a convenient and accessible ground floor location and there must be at least one able-bodied person on hand to assist the driver with unloading.

Hardwood worktops are heavy and awkward items and should be handled correctly and with care. Worktops should be stored flat and away from direct heat sources such as radiators. If possible, we also advise that hardwood worktops are stored in the room in which they will eventually be installed. This allows the wood to acclimatise to the temperature of its environment for a few days prior to installation.

Although our worktops are tough and well packaged they must be thoroughly inspected at time of delivery. Please read fully the 'Terms and Conditions of Delivery' below.

Terms and Conditions of Delivery

Goods are despatched on the understanding that you have read, understood and agree to the Terms and Conditions of delivery as detailed below and on our website.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

You must provide a minimum of one able-bodied person to assist the driver with the unloading of the goods. Deliveries will only be unloaded by the driver to a convenient and accessible ground-floor location.

The driver's delivery docket must always be signed for as 'GOODS UNCHECKED' or 'GOODS UNEXAMINED'. If this strict rule is not adhered to then the risk in the goods is passed to you at the point and time of acceptance of delivery and no claims with regard to carrier damaged items can be entertained by the company. Any shortfalls must be additionally noted on the delivery docket as 'ITEMS UNDELIVERED'. We insure our deliveries for 'carrier loss and damage' and as long as the delivery note has been signed accordingly we will replace the damaged or missing items at our earliest convenience.

All goods must be thoroughly inspected immediately and any defects, damage or shortfalls must be reported directly to Barncrest by telephone or email within 24hours of receipt of delivery. After this period any damage will be deemed to have occurred due to incorrect storage by the customer. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Orders will be delivered during normal working hours (Monday-Friday 8AM-6PM). More specific times and Saturday deliveries can only be arranged by prior agreement and for an additional charge. Delivery dates and times specified by us are given in good faith but are approximate only. Delay due to circumstances outside of the control of the company shall not entitle the customer to cancel any order or refuse to accept delivery.

Worktops will be delivered to you by a third party courier service and access by articulated vehicle may be required. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to inform Barncrest should this not be possible due to inadequate turning, vehicle weight, width or height limit. Delivery vehicle parking must be within close and safe proximity to the delivery address. It is assumed that your delivery address is easily accessible but if you foresee any difficulties you must notify us beforehand so that we can arrange a special delivery.

Goods will not be left without a valid signature from a member of your household or business, who must be 18 years old or over. If no one is present at the premises to accept or sign for the delivery then the full, unsubsidised cost of re-delivery will be charged to you before re-delivery can commence.

In the event that goods are to be returned to Barncrest, all items must be repacked securely using the existing packaging, stored safely and made available for collection.

Barncrest shall not be liable for any costs incurred, whether direct or indirect, resulting from any delay in delivery of the goods or failure to deliver the goods. We therefore recommend that you only arrange for tradespeople to carry out work on your behalf after your order has been delivered by us.

Barncrest shall not be liable for any claims made in respect of costs incurred, whether direct or indirect, due to any necessary additional time required to replace or repair damaged or faulty goods.
